The Hub of My Universe

Sunday is the day during the week when I enjoy relaxing, reflecting on the previous week, and just meandering around the blogosphere.

The Sunday Salon gives me the perfect opportunity to do just that.  So as I was wandering around, I discovered some intriguing blogs that I hadn’t visited before…and some old favorites.

This particular blog site of mine is my newest, and I’m still experimenting with it.  All of my other Word Press blogs are three-column, with custom header; I do enjoy being able to put my own photos on top.  I kept hoping to find one that had a much bigger space for the header.  And yesterday, I thought I had.  But then when I activated the theme, I realized that the title of the blog was not visible anywhere!

Okay, I thought about that for a moment and then decided—no way!  I have to have the title somewhere.  Maybe it was hidden and I couldn’t find it, but then, visitors wouldn’t be able to either.

So then I discovered this theme.  I like that the sidebar has nicely compartmentalized sections.  There was one theme that I really loved, the colors were great—but it didn’t have enough widgets.  Gotta have those!

So I settled on this one, which interestingly enough, was the theme I had for awhile for my first Word Press blog—Explorations. Of course, then I hadn’t discovered how to create custom headers and used the header that came with it (a lovely autumn picture).  Now, that blog and seven others use the Digg It theme.

For now, I think I’ll stick with this one for this blog.  It took forever to put all the widgets back after changing the theme.  I must have changed it three times yesterday.  But then again, I’m obsessive like that.  Also, I discovered that I couldn’t put links in the sidebar.  Not to be derailed by that, I created a sub-page under my Creations tab for some of my favorite blogs.  I also have a sub-page under that tab for my other blogs.

I think I’m all set…for now!

I’m going to take a break from blogging for a minute or two…I just finished breakfast with Noah, who was here for a sleepover; now I’d like to have my Sunday Mimosa.

Cheers!  Hope you’ll visit me here!
