Welcome to another Theme Thursdays, hosted by Reading Between Pages, in which we focus on the writing aspects of the books we’re reading.
Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
- A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
- Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
- Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
- It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.
This week’s theme is
PATHWAYS (reference to roads, streets, passages)
Today I’m excerpting from Distant Shores, by Kristin Hannah, and this passage happened to be on the next page I’ll be reading, p. 243.
The newest art gallery in Echo Beach was on the corner of First and Main. A scrolled ironwork sign above the door read: ECLECTICA.
I certainly didn’t expect to find what I was looking for in the next page!
What did you discover today? I hope you’ll pop in and share….
LOL! What good luck to be able to find it on the next page. Are her books good? I picked up a handful of hers at Goodwill the other day. They looked to be pretty good.
Thanks for stopping by my blog this morning!

Great snippet – I wasn’t sure how I was going to get on with this theme either but it turned out to be relatively easy! This book looks like a great summer read.

I love the cover on this book. It screams relaxation. I think I may get this to read. After the types I have been choosing this may be a good change. 🙂
