Welcome to another opportunity to spark some creativity by joining the Saturday Snapshot event hosted by Alyce, At Home With Books.
Just share a snapshot you’ve taken, or one snapped by family/friend…and link up.
The other day, a friend shared this photo of my daughter taken during her teens, when she was a bridesmaid at a friend’s wedding.
Nostalgic moments….
Does anyone remember being a bridesmaid? I think her dress looks a lot better than the ones I had to wear!
And here’s a “spookalicious” version of grandson Noah at the Pumpkin Patch last weekend.
What have the rest of you found this week? Come on by and share….
Yes, I was a bridesmaid once right after son#2 was born – ack! my dress did not fit very well. I remember crossing my fingers and hoping that the zipper down the back would hold LOL. It did, thank goodness.

For awhile, I had a closet full of those bridesmaid dresses in various pastel shades. Taffeta and net….that was popular when I was young. Thanks for stopping by, Trish.

Oh yes, I have 4 sisters and I was a bridesmaid in each of them. When one of my friends got married she said just wear a black dress. I thought the bridal party looked beautiful with all the unique black dresses.

Oh, I like the idea of the unique black dresses. Very cool! Thanks for stopping by, Lisa.

Very nice dress. Do you suppose she ever wore it again? That’s the thing with bridesmaid dresses. Not often useful in the future. Yes, I was a bridesmaid a couple of times. One dress was bright yellow and one was kind of a rust color (fall wedding). Neither was appealing later. LOL
Great pumpkin patch photo!

No, I’m pretty sure she didn’t, Kay. She did carry it around with her as she moved from place to place. I think she might still have it!
I liked spooking up the pumpkin patch shot. Thanks for stopping by.

I was a bridesmaid 12 times, some of the weddings were 2nds and 3rds. One friend I stood up for at her divorce and at her wedding! My dresses never turned out well. Thanks for the great shot. Your daughter looks gorgeous. I never know if it’s the photo quality or the fashion that makes a picture look dated. Here’s Mine

I’m racking my brain trying to remember the exact date for this one! I think it was early 1990s, but I’m not sure. Funny about that…
I remember dropping my daughter off at the wedding; I didn’t attend.
I think my daughter was about 16 or 17.
Thanks for stopping by, Paulita…and you’re right about the photo quality. This was definitely pre-digital cameras.

Bridesmaids dresses are always awful – makes you wonder what the bride’s thinking. I love the photo of Noah

I think the bride wants to be the prettiest girl there! LOL

Very pretty! Can u recall those stiff, puffy things we were force to endure?

Oh, I do, Diane. Puffy and even scratchy with net over the top of taffeta….Grrrr!
I remember one dress made of a stiff fabric and designed to pouf out at the hip…so we all looked bottom-heavy. You can bet I never wore that one again!
Thanks for stopping by.

That’s a great pic – and quite a dress! I have some good pics of me as a bridesmaid somewhere…not on the computer though. Part of the great “scanning” project/pile.

This one I grabbed from my daughter’s Facebook page. I had never even had a copy of this one, and hadn’t even seen the photo before. I did see the dress, of course.
I have done a lot of scanning recently, though. Plumbing the old photo albums.
Now I’m thinking of grabbing some wedding photos from my albums.
Thanks for stopping by.

That is a much nicer dress than the ones I had to wear as a bridesmaid. Taffeta is the worse idea ever! Love the spooky photo too.

Thanks, Christine. Yes, I remember various taffeta dresses in yellow, pink, green, etc. Ugly things. LOL
Glad you could stop by.

I think she looks lovely! I’ve been a bridesmaid twice–once in black and once in forest green. I’m not a fan of green–but it was my best friend’s favorite color, so I was willing to endure it for her sake. 🙂

The black sounds good, Bev. I was a bridesmaid a few times…I can recall yellow, pink, and teal. None of those were really “my” colors.
Thanks for stopping by, and yes, we put up with many things for friends.

You know, I was never a bridesmaid. Most of my friends eloped, lived together, or had very non-traditional weddings. I was maid of honor for a good friend, but that was only a few years ago. But that red dress is great!
My Snapshot is here.

I know what you mean. I think my daughter was only in this one wedding. Her own wedding was on the beach and she had no bridesmaids. Very laid back and super cool.
I love the red dress, too. Thanks for stopping by, Lisa.

That dress is very cute for a bridesmaid dress! I was one of the first of my group of friends to get married, so I didn’t get to be a bridesmaid (not to mention that most of them moved far away). I wasn’t that sad about missing out on the bad dresses though. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, Alyce. I agree that this dress is a lot prettier than most bridesmaid dresses….I had SO many ugly dresses in pastel taffeta!

Nice pix. I like the dramatic coloring going on the two pix. I do remember being a junior bridesmaid. Was my first to be in a huge affair and back then in high school, I was too skinny for my gown and well, all the self-consciousness that riddled the teen years had to captured in video. *head desk* I cringed watching the home videos. rotfl.

I do remember those teen years and all that angst! Thanks for stopping by, Raine….
Isn’t it great to move past those years?

That’s quite nice for a bridesmaid’s dress. My friends got married in the 80s and the dresses back then were not as attractive. I did wear one black and white bridesmaid dress that I was fond of… in it’s day it looked good.

Somehow I’ve managed to have not been a bridesmaid at all. Sometimes I think it would be fun, but the dresses usually aren’t all that great.
