Sparks are flying around the blogosphere again today, as we join in with Alyce, At Home With Books, to showcase our Saturday Snapshots.
Happy New Year’s Eve! With another year just around the corner, I am looking back again, at nostalgic moments. My first snapshot is a “then and now” kind of moment. In a collage I created, I feature three grandchildren on the left: note the blond boy (Jake) in the shot. Then take a glance at him nowadays in the shot on the right.
Now for another one, back a little further….It’s 1978, and here’s a photo of me with three of my kids. The other one is snapping the shot, which is interesting, since he’s now a photographer. Always behind the camera instead of in front of it. Unless, of course, he uses the timer.
Now I will look ahead, to see what the New Year brings.
What did you decide to share today? I’ll be by to check it out!
I love looking back at old photos and New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to do it. Happy New Year!

Another great collection of nostalgic family pics! I love those 70s fashions, especially that little pantsuit on the fellow in the front, with a vest and everything! Very sweet 😉

Ha-ha…when the kids look at these pix (now that they’re adults), they are horrified that I would choose such clothes for them. Of course, I have to remind them that it was the fashion then….lol
I’m kind of appalled at my hair, though….
Thanks for stopping by, Trish, and have a great New Year.

I love these pictures. I understand your point about your grandson because my own sons are suddely hulking adults, and I love your fashion as you pose with your kids. Here’s Mine

When they are sweet little tots, they reflect our image of them…and then they choose their own persona. It’s interesting to see how they present themselves….
Thanks for stopping by, Paulita. And I recall loving those fashions at the time…lol
Have a great New Year.

I love the then and now, and especially like seeing the old photo of you!
The server for my site has been down this morning (which is frustrating since I have no control over it). My apologies though! I’m still trying to get around to visit all of the Saturday posts.

I love that photo from the 70s. And what is that now-classic car in the background? I have a few photos like that too, in front of my Firebird.

Oh, thanks for visiting, Leslie…and the car was my Datsun 280Z…very much a thing of the past, but then it was a “happening” car…lol

Ah, I thought that car had familiar lines to it. I wanted one of those but then they stopped making them and I ended up getting the 200SX, which was after Datsun turned into Nissan.

After Datsun turned into Nissan, I bought a Nissan Sentra and drove that for awhile (1984 to 1988). Nothing compared to the Datsun 280Z, though!

I do that with my picture frames around the house (then and now). I am really loving being an empty nester now, in the beginning it was hard!
Happy New Year Laurel.

It sure doesn’t take long for them to grow up, does it? Love the way you did the “then and now.” Also, your picture from 1978 is a great memory. I love to take photos out and look at them again sometimes.
