Sparks are flying around the blogosphere again today, as we join in with Alyce, At Home With Books, to showcase our Saturday Snapshots.
Here we are, already finished with Week One of 2012. I hope everyone is having a good one!
Two days ago, my youngest grandson had his ninth birthday, which made me think of birthdays past, as well as this one.
Here he is on his First Birthday, followed by a photo of him now at age nine.
This current photo wasn’t taken with birthday cake…that will come this weekend. But he gives us a glimpse of how much he has changed….
What are the rest of you sharing today? I can’t wait to find out!
That’s an impressive head of curls he has there. And that cake?! How much of that plate did he finish? lol

Oh, he thoroughly enjoyed that cake! I loved the curls and he managed to keep them until he was around two-and-a-half.
I miss them!
Thanks for stopping by, Trish.

What a cutie! And he definitely had some golden curls in the first. Very stylish in the second!

Yes, despite “losing” the curls along the way, before this third birthday, he managed to keep his charm.
I really miss the curls, but the nine-year-old is a lot of fun.
Thanks for stopping by, Kay.

I agree that the curls are beautiful, but boys disdain that adorable look. Keep enjoying him because he might grown into a sullen teenager, like my boys are sometimes. I’m waiting for them to come out on the other side of that. Here’s Mine

Ah, yes, my youngest son had those same kind of curls as a baby and toddler; and he did turn into a surly teen. It seemed to go on and on…sigh.
I think the reason babies are so cute is to sustain us with those memories during the difficult years…lol
Thanks for stopping by, Paulita.

I don’t know — that second photo looks like he’s already trying for teenager! But if he gets too sullen, you can pull out the pics of him with a mop of golden curls.

He is still pretty adorable, but the “pre-teen” side is showing itself now and then. The part that “knows everything.” lol
Thanks for stopping by, Lisa.

Thanks, Irene…I can’t believe it was nine years ago we saw him as a newborn. It was a Sunday, and we were there for several hours before he finally arrived, via C-section.
Glad you could stop by, and enjoy your weekend.

That gorgeous curly hair – most girls would kill for that! 🙂 Does he have it cut short now?

His mother (my daughter) had curly hair as a toddler…and so did his cousin Fiona.
Now it’s short, but he’s growing it out a little bit. When it grows, you can see the wave that’s still there.
Thanks for stopping by, Alyce.

They change so much in those early years. My husband has hair like that, soft curls. Your grandson may want to grow those curls out someday… the girls love it. Or so my husband tells me!

I keep hoping he will, Leslie. My youngest son had curls, too, and when it’s long, it’s wavy; he tends to keep it short.
Maybe Noah can be persuaded to grow it long some day…lol
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend.

haha, love it! I love those baby curls, so cute. It’s amazing how fast they grow, my son is almost 7, but i still remember his first birthday like it was yesterday. Book Savvy Babe

The years go by so quickly, don’t they? Is he hiding those beautiful curls under his hat? Great pics.

No, his curls don’t show when his hair is short…he is growing it out a bit, though, and there are little “bumps” or waves that could turn into curls.
Thanks for stopping by, Cat; I totally agree about the passage of time.

Oh, so do I! Even though my daughter and youngest son had some curls, Noah (and his cousin Fiona) had the best heads of curls of the lot. Thanks for stopping by, Diane.

Gorgeous curls! My nephew still has his at 10, but is starting to get teased so I think they will be gone soon. Happy Birthday Noah!

Thanks, Nise…I wish he’d had them for a few years, but his parents didn’t like the comments, like “oh, what a pretty little girl,” so they cut it.
Glad you could stop by, and have a great weekend. I just had Mexican food with Noah and my daughter (his choice). Around the corner from where I live is a really good Mexican restaurant.

Nice photos! I, too, love those curls. I love how he’s holding a fork, yet he’s eating with his hand.

Ha-ha…I didn’t even think about that part, but yes, he’s not leaving anything to chance. A two-handed approach to diving into the cake.
Thanks for stopping by, Marie.
