CREATIVE SPARKS: SATURDAY SNAPSHOT — FEB. 18

Sparks are flying around the blogosphere again today, as we join in with Alyce, At Home With Books, to showcase our Saturday Snapshots.

As I was out and about this week, I stopped in to see my daughter where she tends bar a couple of days a week.

This first one shows her hard at work.

The flowers were for Valentine’s Day.

In these next photos, we see Heather at different ages and places in her life.

This one was captured by her older brother, the photographer; we had been to the “family sculpture,” which I’ve showcased on other occasions.  He decided to catch some candid shots of her at play.  This one was taken in 1991.

And here’s one of the two of us, a year or so before.  Okay, my hair is totally in need of a makeover!

But I love the mother/daughter moment.

What are the rest of you spotlighting today?  I can’t wait to see….

    • I like looking at the pictures from the past to the present….they form a kind of commemorative collage.

In my last house, I had a gallery of shots in the stairwell. I miss that in my current home. Thanks for stopping by, Trish. Have a great weekend!

    • Thanks, Annie…Yes, I love wondering that same thing. When I think of those years, though, I remember the good moments. And, of course, that’s usually what we capture in photos.

It’s probably just as well not to recall the challenges of raising teenagers! lol

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • Thanks, Joy…I always loved curly hair and had to have perms to achieve it; my two younger kids, however, did everything in their power to “straighten” their naturally curly look. Funny how that happens.

Glad you could stop by, and enjoy your weekend.

    • Oh, I agree, Nise. I like watching her work at the bar…she is always friendly, without being flirtatious. She truly enjoys interacting with people, and how she can mix the drinks and converse without missing a beat impresses me.

In her primary job as a hair stylist, she also enjoys what she is doing.

I guess you can tell I’m proud of her. Thanks for visiting, Nise, and I hope you have a great weekend.

    • Yes, I like it, too, Bev. My son took individual shots of all of us that day, even me. The tumbleweeds reminded us of a place we lived for awhile when the older kids were little….dry and windy.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your gorgeous flowers.

    • That’s my favorite, too, Marie. Obviously he knows how to capture those special (and candid) moments, which informed his career as a photographer of European moments.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend.
