Sparks are flying around the blogosphere again today, as we join in with Alyce, At Home With Books, to showcase our Saturday Snapshots.
Typically, I’m shuffling some photos around to find a theme.
Since last weekend was Bloggiesta, a celebratory blog makeover marathon, the energy spurred by that event led to other makeovers.
Yes, I rearranged some furniture.
I was spending the Sunday and Monday with Noah and Fiona, two of my grandkids. My granddaughter Fiona is always interested in my incessant rearranging of stuff. Or she pretends to be!
My dining room, full of collectible pieces that I enjoy, has always been a bit cramped. My rearrangement focused on making a bit more room around the furniture to walk, etc.
I think I accomplished that. If nothing else, I released some pent-up energy from too many hours behind the computer.
Now I find myself strolling through all the rooms, tweaking this or that; maybe this is what I do instead of spring cleaning.
Or it’s my version of spring cleaning, since stuff does manage to get cleaned in the midst of it all!
What are the rest of you featuring this week? Come on by and share.
It always feels good to rearrange stuff and discover you have more room.

Oh, I agree, Bonnie…now I wish I had some good “before” shots.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend.

You really have a lot of neat things. And, yes, some “before” shots would have been interesting too 🙂

Thanks for visiting, Eva. Yes, when I searched for “before” shots, I realized that I seemingly shot them so as not to emphasize how crowded the space was! lol
Have a great weekend.

I love a good rearranging session. It just breathes such fresh life into a room, doesn’t it? A couple of my rooms are due . . .

I do it a lot, Trish, but hadn’t tackled this room…ever. When I got something new, I just worked around the existing arrangement.
I thought the task would be huge, with all the books and trinkets…but it actually took only about an hour. And I had excess energy to burn!
Thanks for stopping by.

You could use these photos for Ruby Tuesday. Great new look, I love rearranging rooms as well.
Thanks for dropping by and leaving kind words about my new banner.

What interesting things you have, Laurel. Love your Coke memorabilia.

Thanks, Kay….there’s a story to how that got started. Perhaps I should share it some Saturday.
The short version: The Coca Cola stuff first began in the guesthouse of my home in the foothills…and grew from there.
Glad you could stop by, and have a great weekend.

Your dining room looks like it could double as a fun little cafe.

Kathy, I do fantasize that it is my quirky cafe. In the first photo, above the Baker’s rack, is a sign that reads Chez Raine. (Reminds me of Chez Panisse, a famous bistro in the Bay Area of California).
The sign was once above the front door at my foothill house, but in the city, I was afraid that putting it outside would be a bad idea. So it’s in the dining room.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend.

Love the retro look you have developed in your collecting … rearranging is a fun way of bringing forward things you haven’t concentrated on in a while. It makes things look ‘new’ … and yes, it results in some dusting up and scrubbing off. Yes?

Oh, I so agree, Susan….spotlighting things in new ways, or recreating them in new arrangements, is a perfect way to suddenly notice things.
I remind myself that I rearrange instead of shopping for new stuff!
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend.

I love your collectables! Glad you were able to get up and get away from the computer a bit… me too 🙂
Between work and blogging… I need to get away breaks.

Thanks, Paulita…I do enjoy them. The collections grew from just a couple of signature pieces. By the time I moved into this condo, I had most of the larger pieces. I added the Baker’s rack and a couple of the cupboards (one is not visible in this photo).
Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by.

It’s nice to re-arrange stuff and give yourself a little surprise the next few times you walk into the room. I used to do it periodically but have had to make allowances for others recently.

Ah, yes, making allowances for others. I did that for many, many years…and now I’m pleasing only myself! lol
However, visitors seem to enjoy the changes, too. And I do find myself strolling about and looking at it all like it’s new.
Thanks for visiting, Eugenia, and enjoy your weekend.

Thanks, Leslie…I wish that my living room could be rearranged, but the large pieces only fit in a couple of places. I do change up the accessories, though.
I have always enjoyed the cafe theme. Glad you could stop in and visit.

That table and chairs look so fun! And rearranging is a kind of cleaning…it’s ORGANIZING, at least!

Thanks, Cheryl, and oh, yes, indeed, organization involves cleaning. As I moved things, I could dust them, since everything was out of the cabinets. And I could get behind them.
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend.

So do I, Louise…I do feel like it’s a perfect place to start the day, although I mostly begin the day at the computer…lol
I didn’t start out intending to decorate with all the Coca Cola memorabilia…I began with the table and chairs. And then it grew.
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your week.
