Sparks are flying around the blogosphere again today, as we join in with Alyce, At Home With Books, to showcase our Saturday Snapshots.
The last days of school for teens can be stressful…papers due, finals, etc. So when the opportunity arises for playfulness, there is nothing more exhilarating than some goofy fun.
I’m featuring two of my teen grandkids today as they “play” around.
Do you remember letting loose during your final days of school before summer? Or even during finals at any time of the year? I sure do!
Now I’m off to see what the rest of you have revealed today.
My kids are so relieved to be finished for the summer. But, they have started working their summer jobs already.

Yes, it doesn’t take long to move into another kind of “busy.” Thanks for visiting, Paulita, and enjoy the summer.

Just wait until August when they are “bored”. Ha! I remember those days well.

I guess the schools here have figured that one out, too; my granddaughter told me last night (she’s here on a rare sleepover!), that she has to go back to school the first part of August. To me, that seems cruel and unusual punishment…but then I so enjoyed my summer vacations. I used to work, too, and the money was always delightful.
Thanks for stopping by, Kaye, and enjoy your weekend.

Oh, me too, Eugenia…but nowadays, the kids seem to have shorter holidays in the summer, but longer ones in the winter and spring. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend.

I can’t quite figure it out, except it’s part of a clothespin game at Magic Mountain (in Southern California); I’ll have to investigate further!
Thanks for stopping by, Cheryl, and enjoy your weekend.

Even though it’s been many years since I was in school, I still look at the summers as a time for letting go.
Perhaps those early habits or ways of looking at things never completely disappear.
Thanks for stopping by, Marie, and enjoy your weekend.

I love your family pictures, they are so natural and alive. I never think I’m very good at taking photos of people, but I’m hoping to take some of my elder daughter over the next two weeks, before she moves out to set up home with her boyfriend. Meanwhile I’ve been taking pictures of trees and bluebells. http://chriscross-thebooktrunk.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/witches-woods-and-saturday-snapshots.html

Many of my shots are snapped by friends or family on their cell phones, and then shared. I do enjoy snapping people, but sometimes the shots are better when they’re not expecting them.
Which is why I really enjoyed these shots…they seemed unexpectedly candid.
Thanks for stopping by, Christine, and enjoy your weekend.

I agree, Alyce…whenever I look at shots like these, I’m transported back to my own school days and the goofy things we did to alleviate the pressure. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the weekend.

It’s always fun to let loose before that final push to the end of school! The school I taught in always had a really fun field day event in which the students AND teachers had great fun with relays and tricks and a fun ice cream social! Fond memories for all … and then, back to work for that last week!

Those field days do sound like fun. We had some, too, when I was in school (100 years ago!…lol); while times change, some things remain constant. The need to let go and relax is one of them.
Thanks for stopping by, Susan, and enjoy your weekend.

Definitely brings back memories of my childhood summers. I liked school, but it was always a relief to have a summer break so I could sleep in and lay around all day reading. 🙂 Glad to see your grandkids appreciating the stress-free joy of it all!

Summer vacation: The feeling that I often longed for when toiling away at my day job over the years! A job that didn’t offer that summer break, just a few weeks of vacation that I could never take much of because of the workload!
Thanks for stopping by, Leslie…and have a great week.

Yep, both of these shots look like a lot more fun than STUDYING.
Totally off topic here, I see that you liked When She Woke. I was looking at it in the store the other day and flipped through it…. I found the concept fascinating and was wondering if the innards would be as good as the premise. Thank you for your review.
