CREATIVE SPARKS: SATURDAY SNAPSHOT — HOLIDAY MEMORIES — SEPT. 8

Welcome to another creative opportunity to showcase photos, via our weekly Saturday Snapshot event, hosted by Alyce, At Home With Books.

Now that fall is upon us—I always look at Labor Day as the defining moment—I would like to share some Labor Day shots.

My first photo is of granddaughter Fiona, who stayed part of the weekend with me, watching movies and playing her guitar.

Meanwhile, my daughter Heather and grandson Noah enjoyed a weekend traveling to Northern California and then to the Bay Area.

Here are some shots of Noah and his great-grandmother, followed by Heather and her grandmother.

Heather Maureen (means “Little Mary”) and her Grandmother Mary, for whom she was named

Heather and Noah had a fabulous visit…and then went to San Francisco and the Bay Area.

Noah is very adventurous with food….I can tell he was enjoying this meal.

A good time was had by all….and now for a visit around the blogosphere, to see what the rest of you have been up to….

    1. Isn’t it a peaceful background to whatever else is going on around you? I was reading, but listened while I did; and I captured the shot. She doesn’t often like to be in photos, except on her own terms, of course. She was agreeable to this one.

      Thanks for stopping by, Margaret.

    1. Thanks, Staci; yes, Noah is definitely adventurous. I recall that, at two, he ate shrimp and had a funny expression on his face, but enjoyed it.

Heather and I want to plan another visit, with Fiona along. She hasn’t seen her great-grandmother for several years. Thanks for stopping by, Staci, and I love those moments captured on film, too.

    1. He is less adventurous when staying with me, for some reason. His parents bring out the adventurous side, I guess. Thanks for stopping by, Louise, and I love San Francisco (and Sacramento); I lived in both places at one time.

    1. I only participated vicariously through the photos of the SF/Northern California trip, but Fiona and I had a blast. You’d be surprised to hear that we saw The Hunger Games together. Thanks for visiting, Sheila.

    1. I can’t take credit for snapping all of these, as my daughter took the ones of her, Noah, and Grandma. But I know what you mean…it is important to capture the moments. Thanks for stopping by, Rebecca.

  1. What a beautiful family! It certainly looks like everyone had fun! It’s always special when you get to spend time with grandparents. 🙂
I hope you all have many more happy visits together. Keep taking photos, they are treasures!

    1. Sometime I’m going to share a photo of Noah taken a few years ago with his grandpa and great-grandpa. They all have the same big blue eyes. Very much alike. Thanks for stopping by, Christine…enjoyed your photos, too.
