Welcome to another creative opportunity to showcase photos, via our weekly Saturday Snapshot event, hosted by Alyce, At Home With Books.
Today I’m sharing a potpourri of images, totally unrelated to one another.
First, here’s one I like of my son Brett in celebratory mode.
And here’s my “iconic” VW Bug that I use as a paperweight and a reminder of life back in the day.
Next week is Bloggiesta, and I’ll be working on my Serendipity blog.
One of the things I do during that weekend is redesign the blog with a new theme and a new header. Since that particular blog reminds me of the sixties and seventies, here are a couple of collages I created as possible new headers.
So….what are the rest of you spotlighting today? I’m off to check it out!
Needless to say really….. but as a Canadian hockey NUTBAR — I LOVE the pic of Brett with Lord Stanley’s cup, there. And because of the lockout this year — this may be the closest we SEE to a Stanley Cup in the 2012-2013 season.
Great pics!

He is obviously a sports fan, and I guess you are too. The sports stuff passes right over me (:, but I can appreciate the enthusiasm of others.
Thanks for stopping by, Cipriano.

I’d like to see you write a story that connects those three disparate photos. That would be quite a story. Good photos. Here’s Mine

I know, Paulita…disparate is a good label. I was trying to seeming connect them under the “potpourri” label, lol. But you’re on! I’m going to come up with a story. Thanks for visiting!

You can tell Brett my husband also had an opportunity to get his photo taken with the Cup a few years ago and it is still a favourite memory for him!
I WANT that bug!! LOL

I will do that, Jackie….and the bug is one of two I bought a few years ago in one of those shops with quirky things. I gave one of them to my daughter, who enjoys this kind of thing too. I use mine as a paperweight and in “photo shoots” of hippie stuff. lol
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST

Ooh, I love that picture of the girl in the fields in your collages. Now I’m curious about the story on that one!

Actually, I found that one on Pinterest, but I gravitated to it. It fits with some life moments I cherish. Thanks for stopping by, Cheryl.

I like the photo of the girl too! I feel like I missed out on so much by being born in the 70s – certain parts of the 60s look like a lot of fun (like the clothes – love the clothes).

Oh, me too, Alyce. I should have saved the clothes, since my daughter went through her “hippie” phase in the nineties.
Thanks for stopping by…and for hosting.

The photo of Brett is awesome. Could he be any happier?

Oh, I know, Diane…he does enjoy what he does, from time with his kids to his work. He has always been a pretty happy guy. A kid whose teachers wrote that “he is a pleasure to have in the classroom.”
Yes, I know I’m bragging, but only because my other kids didn’t get those notes…lol
Thanks for stopping by.

Ha what a fun picture of Brett. Good luck with all the changes over at your other blog. I did some on mine just recently too. They’re fun to work on, aren’t they?!

Thanks, Trish…and yes, I enjoy making blog changes. I do it rather often anyway, but Bloggiesta is the perfect opportunity to really do a makeover. Glad you could stop by.

As a Canadian I could not cheer the Kings winning the cup. It belongs somewhere cold. That is neat that he got to see it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, too, that the Kings hold a special place in Brett’s heart, since he grew up in Sacramento and saw them “spring to life” there.
Thanks for stopping by, Esme.

Thanks, Christine….even though I didn’t actually have a VW like this, with flowers, etc., I did have several “ordinary” Bugs and a bus. Glad you could stop by.

Somewhere I have a very old picture of me with the Stanley Cup, from the mid 80s. Thanks for the memories!

Oh that’s so cool that your son got to actually touch the Stanley Cup! We had it here in Chicago a few years ago when the Blackhawks were good.
I’ll be participating in Bloggiesta too but I’m not going to try and take on as much as I did last time.

I tend to take on a lot, too; we shall see how it goes. Thanks for stopping by, Leslie, and I know my son was jazzed about the Cup.

What fun photos! How great that your son got to pose with the Stanley Cup! And your 60s collage is very cool. It’s fun to make those but hard to narrow down the choices sometimes. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
