Welcome to another creative opportunity to showcase photos, via our weekly Saturday Snapshot event, hosted by Alyce, At Home With Books.
This week’s Saturday Snapshot post is featuring the birthday of my youngest grandson, who is 10 today (Jan. 5); and I’m also celebrating all things bookish.
First, here are a couple of shots of Noah putting together a jigsaw puzzle and enjoying himself.
Next week, I should have some photos of his actual birthday party.
And now for a peek into my “bookish” house. An office nook, on the left; a corner of my bedroom, in the center; and on the right – one of the bookshelves in my office.
And don’t forget to notice the bookshelf in the photos with Noah!
Above: Some of the stacks I’ll be working my way through this year in one of my challenges.
Now let’s have a look at your world in snapshots!
Noah and I would get along great – I love jigsaw puzzles.

He especially loves this particular puzzle, as years ago, he put a similar one (fewer pieces) together with his Uncle Craig, who was home visiting from Europe. He still mentions how Uncle Craig helped him and also made popcorn.
Don’t you love those kinds of memories?
Thanks for visiting, Kathy.

We love puzzles too! Send him our way! Wow, after checking out how many books you have, I don’t think my upstairs room is too bad!! LOL!! 😀

Yes, and I have many other shelves, too, Staci! I’ve added a stack of books in that office nook that I call the Reading Room. I do giveaways at the beginning of each month. Check it out at Curl up and Read.
Puzzles are fun, but I’m not as good at them as Noah and my son Craig. Thanks for stopping by.

My books have invaded much of my home too. Now if only I could keep them nice and neat. Is that a birdhouse I see below the books in the first photo?

Oh, yes, Leslie…I have lots of birdhouses here and there, inside and one outside. That particular birdhouse is shaped like a shoe as in: There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe….
Thanks for stopping by, and you have a great eye for detail!

Lovely home. I love jigsaw puzzles too but with cats in the house I haven’t wanted to leave out for too long, again. They know they aren’t supposed to be on the table!
Thanks for stopping by, it was a cute notebook. I found it as Bed, Bath and Beyond

Thanks! And I have had cats at various points over the years. As cute as they are, I have no patience for how they “intrude” on things I want to do…lol
I do love Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Thanks for visiting, Gina.

What sweet pictures – and I love that grin on Noah’s face! Such a proud, adorable young man!

Yes, he can wheedle all kinds of treats out of me with that grin. Thanks for stopping by, novel source.

I love photos of children amusing themselves with something like a puzzle rather than an electronic game…he’s adorable! Will you look at all those books!!

Usually he does have his nose in video games, but he lost the use of them for awhile because of something he did. He hardly ever does anything wrong, and I thought his mother’s “punishment” was excessive, but then again, he has amused himself with other things in its absence. Like puzzles and books.
Yes, I love my books that are everywhere in my home. Thanks for visiting, Fran.

Thanks, Heather…I could fit more books in if I didn’t add the knick-knacks, but I do love the mix of books and treasures.

Thanks for visiting my blog; I do enjoy Noah, who is the youngest. The others are all teens! Enjoyable, too, but in a different way.

I think that a home without books is like a person without a soul….but then, that’s just me (and all my bookish friends). Thanks for stopping by, Christine, and enjoy your weekend.

It’s great that kids can enjoy simple things like puzzles still. Lots of books there – great pics 😀

I think so, too, Fay; Noah is on restriction from his video games for a bit, so this gave him the opportunity to explore other things. Thanks for stopping by, and I love my book collections. However, I am having giveaways of some of my ARCs at one of my other blogs. (http://curlupandread.wordpress.com/). The books are taking over the house! lol

You know I really should do the same as a spring clean but I just can’t part with them 😀

Yes, it is hard, Fay…that’s why I do the ARCs…I don’t feel quite as attached to them, even though I enjoy reading them.

Thanks, Debbie….I think so. It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since his birth. I’ll never forget that day, as I was at the hospital with my daughter, her husband, his parents, etc. A party!
Glad you could stop by, and I’ll be sending Noah your wishes.

Yes, Carol, it definitely comes in handy; at Christmas, it held one of the Christmas trees. But I like it best for projects or lunches for the kids. Thanks for stopping by…and my bookshelves shown here are just a sample…lol
