Welcome to another creative opportunity to showcase photos, via our weekly Saturday Snapshot event, hosted by Alyce, At Home With Books.
Last weekend, I took a detour after returning Noah back to his mom. I sauntered down a memory lane that led me back to the little suburban village of Clovis, CA, where my daughter now lives and where I lived back in the 1980’s…and I revisited the library. As I entered those doors, I recalled the many happy times I’d had there.
And at the front door, I enjoyed some of the welcoming material.
And here’s another outside view.
The library was fairly new during the time I lived there. Despite the passage of time, it still filled me with nostalgia.
What are the rest of you sharing today? I hope to visit and chat with you.
What a great trip down memory lane. I always love visiting new libraries.

I felt a bit disoriented, since it had been many years since the time when this was “my library.” But it was great revisiting it. Thanks for stopping by, Louise, and enjoy your weekend.

That’s always the first thing I do when I move to a new town, too…check out the library.
I have found some of the best libraries in really small towns.
Thanks for visiting, Deb, and enjoy your weekend.

Some of my best memories come from libraries, starting with the one in my hometown and its kid section down in the basement. Here’s Mine

Oh, that sounds lovely, Paulita….my very first library shared half the building with the post office in a small country village. I still recall the scent…one that I suspect was more from the post office than the library. Thanks for stopping by!

Love the look of the library. Ours is tight and small in comparison.

This one seemed big to me when I lived in that town; now it seems small compared to my new library. Thanks for stopping by, Sheila.

I love visiting libraries. Ours in town was just added on to — original from 1904 I believe. They kept the historical part intact – very lovely. 🙂

That sounds wonderful…keeping the historical part while expanding and updating. Thanks for visiting, Beth, and enjoy your weekend.

What an interesting design for a library… the rustic rafters give so much character to it. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks…I didn’t notice that about it when I lived there. And in my post, I probably should have added that this particular village is noted for its “cowboy” theme…and every year hosts a rodeo and an event called Big Hat Day. Glad you could stop by, Arti…enjoy your weekend.

Wonderful to see so many patrons! Nice you can take a trip down memory lane. My library was leveled and rebuilt, it was much needed, but I do miss its quirkyness.

Oh, how sad that it was leveled…too bad they couldn’t sustain the integrity of the original while adding to it. But sometimes that’s not possible. Thanks for stopping by, Nise. Enjoy your weekend.
