CREATIVE SPARKS: SATURDAY SNAPSHOTS — MORNINGS ON THE PATIO — JULY 27

Welcome to our regular feature, Saturday Snapshot, our opportunity to showcase photos we or friends and family have captured.  The event is now hosted by West Metro Mommy.

My photos today spotlight the week I’ve had, enjoying early mornings on the patio while there is still a cool breeze.

From my chair at the patio table, I looked over to see a hint of color in the sparse floral display.  The trees rustled a little, stirring up the breezes, and reminding me of why I like reading on the patio.

Shown above is a glimpse of the patio itself, with the birdhouse, my “fake” trees, and the umbrella shading me.

Here (above) is my little friend, who guards my book while I run inside for more iced tea.

Here is the view inside, through the open patio door.

And this rustic sign has its own story.  I had it made while I was living in the foothills, and placed it outside the guesthouse, which I had dubbed Rainbow Cottage.  The name was chosen because each room boasted a different color, ranging from blues, greens, golds, to orange (for the bathroom), all thanks to my daughter who was living there at the time.

Perhaps I will post some photos of those colorful rooms at another time (after I’ve scanned them!).

Thanks for stopping by today….and I hope you’ll share your comments and links.

It’s lovely for those of us shivering on the other side of the world, to be reminded that someone, somewhere is enjoying a balmy summers morning 🙂

    1. Yes, it’s all in the perspective, isn’t it, Brona? I like the idea of the “shivering” right now, but I know that if it were truly cold, I would probably be grumbling. Thanks for visiting!

The greenery around your house/patio/cottage is simply amazing… brings freshness probably in everything you do. I also liked the thought behind putting the name “Rainbow cottage”.
