Welcome to our regular feature, Saturday Snapshot, our opportunity to showcase photos we or friends and family have captured. The event is now hosted by West Metro Mommy.
This week, I am celebrating past birthdays for my two August-born children, who are now adults. But in these photos that I’ve scanned, they are each celebrating first birthdays.
And here are some photos of Heather’s first birthday.
These old photos have faded and turned orange (the last two), but I’m glad I have the images. It is hard to believe that my two youngest “kids” are all grown up!
What are you showcasing today? I hope you’ll stop by and leave your comments and links.
How cute! I think my parents had that same high chair for me when I was little!

so sweet. We have an August birthday, too, with my daughter. I love how your children are all dressed up for their big day. 🙂 -beth

Thanks, Beth…and we did tend to dress them up, usually in new clothes bought for the occasion. For Christopher’s birthday, we were living many miles from the nearest city and feeling isolated. We had to make our own fun. Enjoy your weekend.

The first house was a small mobile home…and the second one, for my daughter’s birthday, was a huge house that had been added onto until it rambled forever. It also was a major fixer-upper…lol
Thanks for stopping by, Elizabeth, and enjoy your weekend.

I know, Susan! I was talking to my second son the other day, commiserating about how fast his kids have grown, with the oldest one (my eldest grandson) off to college. I still picture them both (my son and grandson) as babies…lol
Thanks for stopping by.

Aw, so adorable! Aren’t old photos just so precious? My oldest just turned 19. It’s amazing how fast the time goes.

I agree, Sue…I wish the colors had held up better, but maybe the “vintage” look adds to their charm…lol.

Reminds me of our birthday photos. We are a big August birthday family with six birthdays!
I have scanned our old orangy photos and taken them into Photoshop and gotten rid of the faded tones.

Heather must have been less trustworthy than Christopher since you held her back from the cake in her high chair! Great memories and photos. Here’s Mine

Ha-ha…Yes, that’s probably true….she does tend to “grab” life’s sweets and treasures. Thanks for stopping by, Paulita.

Cute! I see you kept the cake far enough away so they wouldn’t stick their hands in it. We have a very funny photo of my brother with his entire hand embedded in the cake!

Yes, these two are my third and fourth kids, and I learned one or two things with the first two! lol
Thanks for stopping by, Leslie, and I actually do enjoy those shots with them covered in cake…but I was trying to save their outfits!

So cute! It’s scary to think, but I bet my mum has pictures like these hoarded away somewhere, thankfully she doesn’t have a blog… yet! 🙂

Ah, yes…but luckily these are harmless enough…my kids really hate the ones of them in those plaid bell bottoms or the orange outfits…lol. Thanks for stopping by, Annie.
