Welcome to our regular feature, Saturday Snapshot, our opportunity to showcase photos we or friends and family have captured. The event is now hosted by West Metro Mommy Reads.
It is the time of year for senior proms…and for spring-like events. Here are a couple of those special times: First we have a shot of my granddaughter Fiona and her date to the prom….
Now here is a photo of me, snapped on a special night, with a festive banquet, ‘way back in the day. I’ll give you a hint: It was the mid-sixties, when hairstyles were still poofy….just before they turned “hippie-like” and straight, with the hair parted in the middle.
How everything changes with the passage of time!
What are you sharing today? I hope you’ll stop by and share your comments and links.

Two beautiful photos! Fiona has so much personality — it’s revealed in all your pictures of her, which I always enjoy. LOVE the photo of you too. You look so elegant. Beautiful orchid corsage.

Thanks, Sandra….I uncovered that old photo of me and had to laugh at the hair. I did enjoy that orchid!
And yes, I always enjoy whatever Fiona does….

How clever of you to do this! Love your gloves! And love Fiona’s wrist corsage. Those are so much more practical – I always feel like I’ve being attacked by flowers with a regular one even though they are beautiful.

Ha-ha…yes, those corsages were prickly, weren’t they? I haven’t had one in years….and that hairstyle and the gloves were so early sixties. Thanks for stopping by, Kay.
I like that Fiona wore some comfortable shoes, too.

Laurel – great photos. I never had the poofy hair, but graduating from HS in the early 70’s, yes, long, straight hair parted in the middle.LOL

Yes, I graduated a decade earlier, and the Jackie influence was alive and well….then in the seventies, I was older…but looked younger, with that long straight hair. Thanks for stopping by, Diane.

Thanks, Jackie, and I remember dressing up in gloves and hats to go into the city (when I lived in SF). Later in the sixties and early seventies, everything changed.

Yes, it definitely has, Allison…even during the sixties it changed dramatically. My photo was from the first half of the sixties…toward the seventies, we had another dramatic change. Thanks for stopping by.

Awww, I love your prom pic! Personally, I prefer the non-hippie 60s styles!

Thanks, Ginny, glad I saved and scanned that old photo….it was in danger of staying glued to the page in its acid-like album…LOL.
