Good Me, Bad Me, by Ali Land

I’ve been eyeing this book for a while…and today I ordered a paperback copy, which should be arriving within the next couple of weeks.  Have any of you read it?

Synopsis:  Milly’s mother is a serial killer. Though Milly loves her mother, the only way to make her stop was to turn her in to the police. Milly is given a fresh start: a new identity, a home with an affluent foster family, and a spot at an exclusive private school.

But Milly has secrets, and life at her new home becomes complicated. Her foster sister, Phoebe, starts to bully her. A teacher betrays her trust. And her new best friend tempts her into behaving badly. They have no idea who they are dealing with.

As her mother’s trial looms, with Milly as the star witness, Milly starts to wonder how much of her is nature, how much of her is nurture, and whether she is doomed to turn out like her mother after all.

When tensions rise and Milly feels trapped by her shiny new life, she has to decide: Will she be good? Or is she bad? She is, after all, her mother’s daughter.

    1. Thanks, Hayley, I love Gudenkauf’s work and hope to enjoy this one, too. Good Me, Bad Me is one I wanted a while ago, but forgot about since it hadn’t been released yet. It popped up on my radar yesterday!

Enjoy your reading, and thanks for visiting.

    1. I’ve read every one of her books so far. My first was The Weight of Silence, which I received from Amazon Vine and read in 2009. By the end of that one, I was hooked. Thanks for stopping by, Kathryn, and I hope you enjoy this one, too.

  1. Good Me, Bad Me sounds so good!! I have to see if my library has a copy of this one or look into getting a paperback copy for myself as well. It kind of reminds me a little bit of I Hunt Killers (it’s a Young Adult book) about a teen and his father is a serial killer. He struggles throughout the book with whether he’ll end up being a killer like his dad or not. I loved that one, so I am excited about Good Me, Bad Me. Thanks for making me aware of this one!
