It’s almost time to bring out the Halloween/Thanksgiving figurines.

Meanwhile, I’ve been playing with my blogs again, and implemented a new theme here.  I like changing things up.  I’m inspired by Patty, at Books, Thoughts and Adventures; she has a new WP site and she’s exploring the possibilities.

I created my first WP blog in 2009:  An Interior Journey.  But it was called something else then (Explorations).  I went through several name changes before I settled on its current title.

I still had some Blogger sites when I made the switch, but gradually I merged and created everything on WP.

Over the years, WP has made changes, some of which were frustrating to us “oldies.”  We then found ways to circumvent the “new and improved” methods.

Now I think I’ll go to my hall closet and find those decorations for the fall season!  The pub table that held them last year is now set against the sliding glass door.

Enjoy the season!

Welcome to our regular feature, Saturday Snapshot, our opportunity to showcase photos we or friends and family have captured.  The event is now hosted by West Metro Mommy Reads.

Today I am sharing some Halloween photos from my two granddaughters, Aubrey and Fiona.

First, here is a sweetly innocent pumpkin patch photo:

And now for something a little spooky:

And even a little more:

A few weeks ago, I shared some Halloween decorations and costumes from the past.  This week, I’m spotlighting this Halloween and some favorite costumes.

Now that fall is upon us, we have some of my favorite holidays ahead.  Today I’m spotlighting Halloween, with some of my decorations that come out every year.  And a few Halloween costumes past and present.

Here are some of my spooky house critters:

Fairytale Dragon with pumpkins and pilgrims
Concocting a witchy brew
Mickey in a spooky place with a pumpkin nearby
Fiona looking ferocious — a couple of years ago
Heather – costumed for a Halloween party a few years ago
European style Halloween – Gabi has a witchy friend

And now I am in a festive mood….

What are the rest of you showing today?  I’m coming right over!

Good morning, and welcome to this Halloween edition of A Bit of Me (Me), hosted by our devilish 1st Daughter.  Yes, that’s what I said:  devilish.

Because today she is asking us to talk about….CANDY!  Our favorites.  Just in case we’re not already tempted by the onslaught of candy that will descend upon us TOMORROW.

Okay, if that’s how you want to play it.  LOL

I’ve always been a fan of chocolate. I don’t enjoy hard candies, or any of the licorice or other tempting array of treats.  Chocolate is it for me.  But not just any chocolate.

My all-time favorite is…drum roll, please!!

When I was in college, there was one of those carts near the library, where someone sold all kinds of things, but mostly sweets. I would stop by and have my almond joy fix to perk up my afternoons.  I can still enjoy the memories of savoring that afternoon delight.

I don’t have almond joys very often these days.  But I think I might just have to add a couple to my Halloween selection (but to set aside for me afterwards!).

Next in line for favorites are some that I actually do have occasionally, and which are already in my bowl for Halloween.

I also enjoy those little Hershey’s pieces and they’ll be making up my treat bowl as well.

What about you?  Do you dream of chocolate, or perhaps some other, even more exotic flavors?  Please stop by and share, tempting us with your choices.
