CREATIVE SPARKS: ONE LONG HOT SUMMER — JUNE 16

Sparks are flying around the blogosphere again today, as we join in with Alyce, At Home With Books, to showcase our Saturday Snapshots.

As the summer days turn hotter, I am reminded of one long, hot summer six years ago.  In July of 2006, I was still living in the foothills, but even there, the triple digit heat escalated.

At one point, the thermometers reached 113, 114, and 115.  Then for ten days or so, it stayed there.  There was nothing to do but escape.  And escape we did, to the coastal town of Santa Cruz where my son had a resort with a series of miniature log cabins where we enjoyed some time together.

Into the woods….

Our little log cabin….

We spent several enjoyable days there….and by the time I went home again, it had cooled off just a bit.  And as the fall and winter came, I settled in here, in my living and dining room, and prepared the house for sale.  And decked it out a bit for the last Christmas we would spend there.

That summer, fall, and winter were full of moments locked away in our memories…and in our photos.

What are you sharing today?  I hope to enjoy some of your memories.
