Welcome to another Musing Mondays from Should Be Reading.
Here are some possible questions to ignite your morning:
• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.

Today I’m going to talk about my reading habits. I’m a bit obsessive/compulsive, so I like having visual images of the books I’m going to read next.
First there are the lists. And then I document what I plan to read at It’s Monday: What Are You Reading? It’s not as if I can’t change my plan, but it helps to have something in place.
Then I stack the books on my office coffee table, in order of my reading preference. Again…I am not OCD to the extent that I can’t change things around. In fact, yesterday I had a plan, but then started reading the first book and decided I didn’t want to read it….at least not now.
So I changed it up.
Here’s an example of my visual stacks from a few months ago.
What are your reading habits? What helps your reading flow?
I have been in a reading slump, not a good way to start off the year, but like your system. I thin I may incorporate it to see if it helps me. Thank you for sharing. Have a nice week!

I hope it works for you, Cheryl….I hate when a book doesn’t engage me, and if I don’t “ignite” things a bit, a slump can happen. Thanks for stopping by.

I guess you could say I am a moody reader. When I make a stack, it seems like the next book up, I may not be in the mood for. Sometimes I just like what I call “Mind Candy” books to read. Then other times I may want “Mind Meat” for my next read. It all comes down to the mood I’m in.

That happens to me, too, Gigi Ann…and then I reshuffle the stack! lol
Thanks for visiting, and enjoy your week.

I totally keep a list too but i only have so many books listed on there at a time, usually netglalley and blog tours and then anything extra I just randomly select. Thanks for stopping by this morning!

Yes, I try to keep my list (and visual stack) achievable during each week. Thanks for visiting, Cathy…and good luck with your reading.

Wow! You are very organized on your books. Unlike me. *sighs* . It’s such a great view seeing those books. Happy reading for both of us! 🙂

Leslie, if I didn’t use these little tricks, I’m afraid I would be overwhelmed by the bigger stacks nearby….lol
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your reading.

Thanks, Kwizgiver…I am primarily a visual person, so what I can see will most likely get done…lol
Glad you could stop by.

I like your reading stacks. I tend to be one who plans out things too. Although not in lists so much as a mental list..and the way I set things out to read on some of my blog posts. I used to set some out on a coffee table but the cats would than decide they made the perfect place to sleep lol
Thanks for stopping by Fire and Ice too 🙂

I like to plan my reading but I often also change it up if I’m not in the mood for something.

Wow, thats an extensive system you’ve got there. I’m practically the complete opposite – my system is just to pick up whatever looks interesting at the time.
Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂
