Today I’ve grabbed a book off of my TBR stacks.  The Tall Pine Polka, by Lorna Landvik, is a story set in a town on the remote edges of northern Minnesota, and featuring a homey cafe that spotlights a cast of quirky characters.

Teaser:  Sunrise was just breaking through the winter morning as Lee made her first breakfast of the day.  A long rectangle of hash browns was preheating next to rows of puckering bacon.  She cracked two eggs and broke, unintentionally, both yolks. p. 18

Yummy!  Sounds like we’re getting an early introduction to the cafe called Cup O’ Delight.

    1. Oh, that does sound good, Trisha! I wrote this teaser last night, and throughout the night, I dreamed of going into restaurants and ordering food! Funny, huh? Glad you could stop by, but watch that cholesterol! LOL

  22. What a wonderfully descriptive teaser. I like the flow of the author’s writing. I haven’t heard of this author or the book before, but I’ll definitely check this out.

  23. Hi Laurel Rain,

    Great teaser lines this week, although it is dinner time here in the UK, so it isn’t making me feel too hungry, my smoked salmon and rice will do just nicely.

    That’s the kind of breakfast I only eat when I am on holiday in Florida, minus the eggs, as I only like mine boiled either hard or soft.

    This sounds like a fun, quirky read, perfect for a Winters evening by the fire.

    I like the alternative cover art, which comes up on Amazon when you click on your link.

    Haven’t heard of this book. Good teaser, though. Nothing like a good breakfast on a cold winter morning, although being a vegetarian I’d skip the bacon. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your comment. Enjoy the rest of your book.
