SATURDAY SPARKS: A COZY SATURDAY

Welcome to our regular feature, Saturday Snapshot, our opportunity to showcase photos we or friends and family have captured.  The event is now hosted by West Metro Mommy.

I wasn’t planning to participate today….scrolling through my photos, I came up blank.

But then I sat down to read on Sparky, with a cup of coffee, and snapped these photos of my Saturday morning.

Then I moved on into my bedroom, to the little rolltop desk where I pay bills….and where I now have a new little cordless phone/answering machine.  My old one was filled with static…and chipped paint.  LOL

And here is a long view….

The downside of getting a new phone:  adding all the phone numbers to the Directory.  It’s not like with our cell phones, where we can just slip in a Sim Card.

What does your Saturday look like?

On Sparky, I am reading this book:

We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart:

    • Thanks, Melinda….I had not intentionally set out to collect these pieces, but I added them to my guesthouse in the foothills and loved them, so when I downsized to the condo, they seemed the logical choice.

And I have always loved red.

  1. Writing teachers often stress the importance of small moments. What you have shared here is perfect!

Although when in my home province, I always take lots of photos from trips and events, some of my favorite shots are also just from random sights about town or even of changes within my childhood home. Both types of photos capture life.

    • Thanks, Allison…and I have photo albums full of the “small moments.” Lately my photos are only on the computer, and I’m wondering if I should be printing some out for the albums.

In looking back at all the places I’ve lived and the “small moments,” I am glad to have snapped those shots, as I can remember what was going on in my life.

  2. We Were Liars is coming up soon in my pile of books. Looking forward to your thoughts.

I abandoned the phone directory on my landline phone. Now, it mostly receives calls, and when I need to dial out, I look up the number in my cell phone directory. I know a lot of people have just gotten rid of their home phone, but I keep hanging on to it. I’ve had that number for 25 years – I guess it’s a generational thing.

    • I cannot imagine not having a landline…the cell phone is just something I use when I’m away from the house…LOL. Yes, probably generational. Thanks for stopping by, Leslie, and I enjoyed We Were Liars.
