After several months of filling my shelves with books, dolls, and figurines, I have now turned to the outdoors. My new little patio table is enjoyable in the morning, for coffee, and in the afternoon for wine.

I am also eager to add little trinkets outdoors, and have ordered the first of my new Birdhouse Collection. I used to have many of them at my condo where I lived for twelve years. They all disappeared with the move to the studio apartment…so it is time to begin again.

Today I’m featuring moments with Noah…and my own special morning in my newly painted patio.
Noah’s special creation:
Noah’s Band Award – (He plays the trombone):
Bookworm Noah:
And….this morning, I was happily reading and having breakfast on my newly fenced and painted patio. Last week, they built the new fence, and this week they painted it.

Last week, I shared photos from my second son’s visit to Sierra Leone. This week, take a look at some Berlin street art photographed by my eldest son, Craig Robinson Photographer.

I have been hit and miss with these posts lately, but today I’m back with some family moments. My youngest grandson, Noah, just turned eleven, and here are a couple of shots of him.
The first is a collage showing Noah in the present (left). On the right, we see toddler Noah, (top right), and Baby Noah’s “sculptured” hand, (bottom right).
Here is a picture of Heather and Noah “clowning around.”
And finally…Heather and Steven put together a collage to celebrate their upcoming nuptials. Harmony is a little coastal town where they might exchange their vows…and it is also a metaphor for what they hope their marriage will look like.
Okay…enough of that schmaltzy stuff! lol

With Christmas behind us, I would love to share a few more mementos of the season before saying goodbye. Here is what you see when you first enter my holiday home.
And as a nod to the upcoming New Year, I have rearranged my office space. I moved the table that had been standing in as a desk to its new home (above), and placed the drop leaf table (below) in its place. Here’s one view:
And here’s another:
Now I’m eager to begin the New Year! Happy Holidays!!

Now that Christmas is coming very soon, I will share a few decorations…and also some more family shots.
First….across the world, in Spain, my son’s bride Gabi snapped this rare and spontaneous shot of Craig. He looks exuberant, doesn’t he, especially for someone who is usually behind the camera instead of in front of it.
Now…back to the states, and down south a bit, in sunny LA: Aubrey and some friends “catch” the premiere of Catching Fire.
Here in my city in the middle of the state, we are gradually decking the halls. I pulled some of the usual decor out of the bins to showcase a wee bit of Christmas, Laurel-Rain Style.
And here’s a little vignette, with “fake” poinsettias, to make us feel the cheer of the season.
And for the grand finale, here’s the tree at the home of Heather, Steven, and Noah. I recognize some of the ornaments from the days when I had a big tree in my foothills house.
Now…for the rest of the weekend, I plan to watch movies and shows on Netflix, sip a little eggnog, and read. What are you doing to get in the holiday spirit, if you celebrate it?

This past week has been wonderful, with Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Part II.
In Part II, additional family members gathered for a lunch on Saturday at Marie Callender’s. Here are a few of our photos:
Here’s a photo of grown kids and grandkids. There were only four grandchildren at our celebration this time.
Now for some of the candid shots:
And here’s another group shot. Note: lots of cell phones are on display!
And some of you may have noticed that Alec and Fiona are missing. Here are a couple of shots of them each, doing other things instead of being with us…sigh.
And now…drum roll, please! The Big Reveal!! While some of us were enjoying our Thanksgiving get-togethers, my European son was…getting married! Here he is with his lovely wife Gabriela (Gabi). They flew to Gibraltar for the wedding ceremony, and honeymooned in Costa del Sol (Spain).
They have been together for seven years…and some of us thought they would never get married.
We only wish we could have been there!
So…what are the rest of you showcasing today? I hope you’ll come on by and share.

Wow! What a great week this has been. I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a great one. Here’s a sneak peek at some of my family moments.
First…let’s take a look at my daughter’s home…before the celebration.
And here’s another view:
My youngest son (Christopher, right), with wife Kerrie (middle) and sister-in-law Natalie (left): snacking on tidbits.
Here’s Noah, indulging and enjoying:
Here are our two hosts, cleaning up…and yes, we offered to help, but I think they like having this moment together:
Here’s Christopher, stunned by the whipped cream Noah dabbed on his nose:
And….here’s the grand finale, after the clean-up: the cooks are kissing!
A grand time was had by all! Hope you all had a great week…and please stop by and chat a little.

After missing a week, I’m back with more creative sparks from my kids and grandkids. Let’s begin with my eldest son’s features.
Here’s one about the Zombie Walk in Berlin...click the link for more info. from an article he wrote; then enjoy one of my son’s shots.
Now…on to my second son, Brett, who had the pleasure of chatting with Brian Wilson:
Meanwhile, eldest grandson, Alec, spent some time in San Francisco with friends:
Back in Berlin, at Craig’s flat, he did a little Feng “Sway,” as he calls it, with the keyboard, a quirky lamp, and the old time piano photo above the modern version:
And that’s some of what we’ve been up to in our family.
As for me, I’m just reading and blogging…and in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of JFK’s Assassination, here’s an excerpt from my book Chasing Stardust, in which some of the characters mourn his passing.

Today we are looking ahead to more holidays in the coming months. But before we go there, let’s take one final look at Halloween.
Here is my eldest son…and could that be an advertisement for his business across this photo? Why, yes, it is! Click the photo to see his website.
Now for some simple pumpkins….before and after the spookiness sets in. The first one is Craig’s unique version of the Great Pumpkin.
The next two photos are of Noah’s pumpkins:
And here are those same pumpkins…after the lights go out.
Here is my tribute to the autumn season…my desktop background on the laptop, and my coffee mug: Apple.
And Fiona’s nod to the season: a dark hoodie (and it’s a selfie!).

Now I’m ready to move on to the next holiday! What about you?
