CREATIVE SPARKS: SATURDAY SNAPSHOT — JAN. 28

Sparks are flying around the blogosphere again today, as we join in with Alyce, At Home With Books, to showcase our Saturday Snapshots.

In December, my eldest son, a European photographer, vacationed in Barcelona.

Here are some of the shots he shared with me.

Enjoying a musician called "The Captain"

And here’s the photographer himself, relaxing….

A Little Liquid Pleasure

What did the rest of you spotlight today?  I’m eager to see what you’ve got….

Lovely photos! I’m sure your son had a blast in Barcelona. What a gorgeous city. My SS is my Dad and grandmother.

  2. Staci@LifeintheThumb

Those are so cool…love The Captain photo!!

  3. I’d love to go to Spain! Did he take the picture of himself?

  4. Europe is just so wonderful! It looks like he’s really at home there.

    • Oh, he is…my wandering expatriate son! I haven’t seen him since 2007….sigh. We Skype and connect on Facebook. Not enough. But I do vicariously live through his experiences there.

      Thanks for stopping by, Trish.

  5. I’ve never even thought about going to Spain. Bet he had a good time. “The Captain” huh? Made me think of “The Captain and Tennille (sp)” – remember them? LOL

    • Oh, I know, Kay…in fact, when he posted these, he put “The Captain”…and then said “where’s Tennille?”

I saw The Captain and Tennille perform in Las Vegas during the 80s. Wonder if they are still around….

      Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Thanks for dropping by! Great photos!

  7. Barcelona has been on my bucket list after reading THe Shadow of the Wind! I’m dying to visit the Gothic Quarter!

    • I’ve been thinking of Barcelona since I saw the Woody Allen movie: Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

There were some great scenes in that one. Thanks for stopping by, Annie…enjoy your weekend.

  8. Nice shots. I would wear out my camera taking pictures in Barcelona! One of these days I’ll get back to Europe for a holiday.

    • Can you believe I’ve never been to Europe? My son has lived there since the mid-nineties, and I only see him when he comes here (but that’s not often enough!).

I must do something about that! Thanks for stopping by, Leslie.

      • You need to go! Especially since you have a tour guide to take you around. I spent a few weeks in Italy and it was nice that we have family there to show us around.

      • Oh, I know…it would be better than going with a tour group! Thanks, Leslie.

  9. I would love to visit Spain someday! I think I know just enough Spanish to get by (and hopefully not get into too much trouble). :)

    • I have forgotten most of the Spanish I ever knew! My son manages nicely in most European countries, because when he lives in a place, he picks up the language; when visiting, he says most countries have many English speaking people in the shops. Or some of them, anyway. Thanks for visiting, Alyce.

  10. What an exciting place to visit! Great pics!

  11. What fun pictures! The Captain looks like he has quite the life story to tell. :)

  12. I’m considering a trip to Barcelona this fall with some friends — it looks lovely. those are great pictures.

  13. Love these pictures!! I love seeing places your son visits!

  14. These are really great Laurel.

  15. Nice! Thanks for sharing those. I’d love to visit Spain one day.

  16. Great photos. I love the contrast of the red can.

  17. A photographer in Barcelona must be like being a kid in a candy shop. Here’s Mine

    • Yes, I could hear it in his voice when we Skyped before the trip….living in Europe has been an experience just like that. Thanks for stopping by, Paulita.
