A BIT OF ME (ME) — FAVORITE WORD

Over at There’s A Book, there’s a weekly meme in which we, bit by bit, pull back the layers of our hidden selves and share a piece of that part we don’t always show the world.

Here’s how our leader puts it:

We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.

This week, we’re supposed to share our favorite word.  Now this took me awhile.  There are numerous words I use everyday that are like my trademark, like “quirky,” but that particular one just doesn’t sum up my persona. Then I thought of a word that my kids are always using about me, or about my reaction to certain events.  I am a person who likes things in a particular order.  And when those aspects of my life are out of order, they are ASKEW.

The dictionary definition:  crooked, crookedly, awry, lopsided, aslant.  Slang cockeyed.

Yep, that sums me up, I guess.  I like things the opposite of askew, or straight, centered, even, right, true, in line, aligned…

So that’s my big confession!

Why don’t you hop on over to the host’s blog and join in the fun.  Enter you links and play.

  1. Oh! I like your choice! This is so much fun and you really do get to know a person a little better by their choice of words. I’m also a person who can’t stand when things are out of place, askew. It’s just unnerving. 🙂
